Featured Article: A Vision for the Future

A friend of People's Lacrosse recently wrote an article using us as a case study for how future businesses might be structured. We're honored to be featured, and we think his perspective captures something important about why we started this project in the first place.
He writes about creativity and making things — not just products, but experiences, communities, and opportunities for people to connect with something they love. The tone is light and fun, which is exactly how we approach everything we do. Lacrosse should be fun. Building a business should be fun. And if you're not having fun, you're probably doing it wrong.
The Core Idea
The article explores how People's Lacrosse represents a different way of thinking about business. Instead of starting with a market analysis and a growth plan, we started with a problem we personally experienced: wanting to practice lacrosse in our backyards without breaking windows or damaging property. Tennis balls and wiffle balls were the solution, but existing sticks couldn't handle them properly.
So we designed a stick specifically for those balls. And along the way, we built something that resonates with other players who face the same problem.
Creativity First
What makes this approach different is that creativity comes first. We're not trying to disrupt the lacrosse industry or capture market share. We're trying to make something that didn't exist before — a stick that lets you practice anywhere, with balls you already have, without worrying about damage.
The business side matters, of course. But it's in service of the creative vision, not the other way around.
Keeping It Light
One of the best things about the article is how it captures the spirit of People's Lacrosse: light, fun, and focused on the joy of the game. We're not trying to be the next big thing in sports equipment. We're trying to make it easier for people to play lacrosse wherever they are — backyard, driveway, garage, park, beach, hotel room, you name it.
If that resonates with you, great. If not, no hard feelings. There's plenty of lacrosse to go around.
